Tolhuistuin

TL/DR: Went to Toluistuin garden; explored a bit of the Noord; catching up on homework.

I got up at 7 this morning to try and finish the homework I have for the start of school.  Inevitably got distracted by this zebra Smart Car.

Charming cafe with an even more charming name.

The Dutch love cats, just sayin.

Tolhuistuin is a garden in the North of Amsterdam.  You have to take a ferry to get there.  Silvia, Sara, Kamila, and I went to explore.  Today, they were hosting a live band and an music sale of independent labels.

We found this human cat tree and of course had to climb up it.

"Are you freezing, Sara?"
"Almost."

Cool little bar with lots of couches inside.

We're not really sure what this was.

We walked around outside the Eye Film Museum for awhile.  It was pretty windy and cold...bring on the Dutch weather!

Cultural tidbit of the day: "burro" in Spanish means "donkey," but in Italian, it means "butter."

Italy, Spain, Russia.

On the ferry back to Centraal Station.  You can bring your bike on board, and the trip lasts about 5 minutes.  Every time the ferry started to move, Sara would grab my arm and say, "Ever since I have seen Titanic..."

This is what the outside of the ferries look like.  There are three that go in different directions from the station.

And now I must return to my study nook!  I've got to finish Swann's Way by Thursday.  Love to you all!  Will be sending out letters soon!
xoxo
