Warehouse Weekender Market

Due to the advertising being in Dutch and the awkward Google Translate transcription on Facebook, I wasn't quite sure what this event was going to be all about.  It was located at Roest, that nifty warehouse collection right by my apartment that I need to spend more time visiting.  From what I could tell, there would be craft vendors, food, beer, and clothes.  This turned out to be pretty accurate guessing on my part.  Luckily, this weekend necessitated a well-deserved study break, so Sara, Silvia, and I teamed up to check out the shenanigans.

And here we go!  Event entrance sign:

Food vendors in the warehouse.  Turkish bread, lots of beer, tiny chocolate bon bons (no pictures because I avoided them like the plague because I wanted to spend my money elsewhere...amazing little desserts shaped like thick Reece's with intricate designs on top).

Arriving early...

Silvia: "You want to have your palm read?"
Sara: "No.  I am gonna be rich, I know.  I don't need nobody to tell me."

Alright, who wants one?

Lots of local jewelry makers.  They all had really neat displays.

"How do you call them?"
"Antlers."

The Roest warehouses have some neat murals and structures:

Globe lamps!

Ugly-on-purpose clothes abound...

"Top Shit Vintage"

These are little lamps made out of old bike parts:

Cassette lamps!!!

There were some interesting art pieces available.

This one rotates on its own:

Tempting...

This was just chilling in a hallway:

Cozy!

We went to the bar for a little bit.

And then took one last loop around the venue.  Spotted this very interesting bag company:

Slogans include "I Did Berlusconi" and "Don't Go All Deepak On Me"

There were LOTS of babies out and about.  Turns out Sara really freaking loves babies, and after turning her down when she asked me to "make one" for her, I took this picture outside as a sort of compensation.  Party on, little dude!

I made some purchases today :)  You, lucky reader, may be receiving one in the mail sometime soon!
