Last night, Kamila and I participated in an ISN scavenger hunt. We were given a list of tasks to complete and had to get photo evidence of them. Our group was ready to go and didn't actually introduce ourselves to each other, so I don't know what anybody's name was, just that the girls are from Romania and the boys are from Czech Republic. I did like that one of the guys would say "crowdy" for the word "crowded." The way people speak English is one of my favorite parts about meeting people from all over.
Here's a sample of some of the antics we got up to.
Here's a sample of some of the antics we got up to.
- Find a couple and take their picture
- Get a stranger's autograph
- Get a take-out menu from a Chinese restaurant
- Get a map of Amsterdam
- Get someone to take a picture of your group jumping
- Take a picture in front of a statue
- Squeeze your group into an elevator
- Wrap a group member in toilet paper
(This the Beehive, the mall we went into to complete the last two tasks)
- Propose to a stranger ("I don't want to, my girlfriend is coming out soon...")
- Buy one grape from a grocery store
- Take a picture of everyone in the group drinking one soda
- Take a picture of a woman with four or more children (there are three on the right and two carriages...we were sneaky about this one)
- Go into a Burger King and order a McKroket
- Find a house with the numbers "1 2 3"
- Fit as many people into a tree as possible (we tweaked this one a bit...)
Tasks not pictured/ represented in film:
- Find a pregnant woman
- Stage a flashmob
- Make at least one Dutch person sing the national anthem
- Kiss a stranger on the cheek
- Conduct an aerobics class for at least 2 minutes
- Run up an escalator that's going down
We had two hours to complete the list, and then it was time for the party bus! We drove around Amsterdam for a few hours while people danced and got drunk. Fabulous.
Breaking the tie for scavenger hunt winners (we were group 2).
The DJ had to leave after the first hour, so they put in a generic party CD. Hilarious, because we got to hear this guy on the CD saying, "Alright this is Sexed-Up Mixtape Disc Seven, I'm your boy Ambush, here with DJ Dyna, it's just you and me girl. We love the ladies. Come on." etc. etc.
You were allowed to smoke in the back of the bus, right where we sat :) This is just from a smoke machine though, it didn't get this bad from just people's cigarettes...
...because there was a window in the roof for the cig smoke to escape from. And that people thought it would be a good idea to climb through.
Literally sitting on the roof of the bus. They were asked to get down eventually.
All in all, an interesting night. Something I've never done before at least!
