goodnight amsterdam

Kamila bought my bike and promised to send photos of it, as if it were my child she has adopted :)

Last night, I had my last crazy night out here.  A few memories:

  • Having a drink at the brewery next to the windmill with one of my Italian friends
  • Riding on the back of my own bike while an American tourist the group had met that day pedaled through the streets of Amsterdam for the first time in his life
  • Trying to sing "Macarena" on karaoke with the two Spanish-speakers in the group
  • Swing dancing (again!) with a Swedish tourist
  • Getting approached by the creepy old guy in the bar who asked for my email address (...what)
I got to say goodbye to my Colombian friend who came back early from vacation, cycle in the night rain, and dance again.  Perfection.

Had coffee with Sara in the afternoon and one last drink at a nearby cafe tonight with a friend I hadn't seen much, but we are both interested in visiting each other's countries (England and US), so there's a good chance I'll see her again.

I'm all packed up and ready to go and just need to stop worrying about sleeping through my alarm or being late.  I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE YOU GUYS.

Dutch Sweets

A collection of tasty things I ate this semester.  Basically different kinds of cookies.

Stroopwafel

Tea biscuit

Gingerbread cookie

Sugar waffles and Koffie waffles

Salty licorice mints

Gingerbread!  Marketed like granola bars here (energy, geared towards athletes, etc.)

HAHAHA

So I'm pretty good about keeping up with everything I create, but I found this video and I guess I was so excited to talk to my brother that I forgot I had started making it!

Kamila upon arrival, after 22 hours in transit

"I think I'm going to shower and the work on some math for a bit, and then I'll go to bed."
